5. Schedule

The development path for the project will be divided into a few iterative development cycles, each with its own version number (e.g. 0.6, 0.7, ...). Each public release will be further identified with an additional letter designation (e.g. 0.6a, 0.6b, 0.6c, ...). Within each development cycle, the standard phases of analysis, design, coding, and testing will exist but not be rigorously maintained or partitioned. Although the schedule in this plan will only reflect the target completion for each cycle, intermediate milestones may occasionally be established and reflected outside this plan by the developer.

There will be some additional example development on the tail of the 0.6 versions. Following the accomplishment of the major goals in the 0.7 versions, development will be set aside to write an Application Development Guide as well as to assess risk and replan. At present, version 0.8 and 0.9 families remain unscheduled but reserved to cover additional requirements or major development directions. Mentata Systems reserves the right to skip these cycles altogether, instead releasing a final version 1.0.
