The following examples represent LDAPHttp contexts, objects, servlets, and/or databases hosted by Mentata Systems to demonstrate and explain some of the capabilities of the framework. The source code for all examples is available for download as well as per file through the API documentation. You can also download all supporting schema and data to locally recreate these applications.


 

LDAPHttp is designed to make simple phone directory applications easy. Using directory databases hosted publicly on the internet, this example demonstrates the basic use of LDAPHttp with simple multi-tier search applications.

Big Ten example

 

The LDAPHttp gateway can also enable you to create interfaces for the secure management of directory information. With a little local data, this example demonstrates single sign-on and attribute updating mechanisms.

Beatles example

 

LDAPHttp can be used for directory applications that extend beyond people and organizations. This example demonstrates reused object definitions to fully characterize a standard vocabulary of biomedical terms.

MeSH example

 

LDAPHttp applications can extend standard gateway functionality for prototyping or the development of unique applications. This example demonstrates custom interactivity with data on various voting records.

Congress example

 

LDAPHttp enables developers to present directory data flexibly for diverse audiences. With another local database, this example breaks up biblical literature for search and display in multiple translations.
