Medicare Prescription Drugs Procedural Vote |
| This was a procedural vote (60-vote supermajority needed) to overcome objections that were made to the Medicare prescription drug conference report (H.R. 1) negotiated with the House because certain spending amounts in the bill exceeded what was permitted in the budget resolution passed earlier in the year. Opponents of the legislation used this mechanism to try to kill the bill. Passed: 61 Yea to 39 Nay. |
