Medicare Prescription Drugs Conference Report |
| This vote was on final passage of the Medicare conference report (H.R. 1) negotiated with the House. The legislation offered an inadequate prescription drug benefit, failed to include any measures to rein in skyrocketing prescription drug prices, and provided drug coverage through insurance companies and managed care plans, rather than through the traditional Medicare program where hospital and physician coverage is currently provided. Passed: 54 Yea to 44 Nay. |
