Patients' Bill of Rights: Final Passage

This vote was on final passage of the Patients' Bill of Rights sponsored by Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.), John Edwards (D-N.C.) and Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.). The bill would improve patient access to care and allow patients to hold HMOs accountable in court for the damages caused by their failure to provide necessary medical treatment.
